And in the end, they became the seahorses to Noel's Ian Brown.

Really sad news from the best band of this decade.
I think even the haters would agree that there were moments of pure beauty amongst their music.
Speaking of haters...Hey Eddie! Go fuck yourself, pal. You've only got an opinion on 4 things and 1 just left town. Your life just shrunk by 25%. Tough break, kid. Now go play FIFA and get destroyed by a blind disabled badger.
Anyway, Bring The Light's kick ass aggression, The Morning Son's Lennon guitars, the fucking horns on Flick Of The Finger, the last 3 minutes of Wigwam....I could really go on. They wern't perfect, there was filler, there were shit songs written by Gem but they had more about them than that little MOR shit rat (and I don't mean SRK!).
Don't forget the memories guys xoxox

Haven't you got a tired lame drugs boast to make, pal?
Get to the back of the queue in the meantime.

Ah well, it was fun while it lasted. They played some great shows and gave us at least half a dozen superb tunes. But the second album was a clanger. Two great singles surrounded by some real dross.
I personally got more enjoyment out of Beady Eye than I did from Oasis' last five years together.
Really interested to see what Liam does now. I'd like to see him do some good collaborations with some DJs or other producers like DIV, but I think we're more likely to get a John Lennon-style solo album.

I personally got more enjoyment out of Beady Eye than I did from Oasis' last five years together. Completely agree with this. Those half a dozen tunes were as good as anything Oasis managed post Shoulders. Had some great times seeing them live, enjoyed those gigs more than the last few times I saw Oasis. Not sure I'd hold much hope for a Liam solo record if he was left to his own devices. What could we expect other than Weller & Marr helping out on a track or two with everything sounding like Meaning Of Soul or as Chrissie said, some sub-par Lennon shit. His lack of interest in music in general means he'a limited if he decides to put a new band together, I can't imagine there being any chances took. Still, maybe he will get to work with BONEHEAD on the next project. A dream would be for Death In Vegas or someone such as Public Service Broadcasting to use him for an entire record, that'd be awesome. Aphex Twin Vs Liam Gallagher 2015! When all the dust has settled, anyone that wants to give shit about Beady Eye can just watch this & shut the fuck up Or maybe Beady Eye no longer exist because Liam (the CREATOR of Oasis) has now decided to reform Oasis without Dwayne?

I'll say this much...I flew halfway across the country on the day of my grandfather's funeral (one of the shittiest days of my life) to see them in Toronto, and the moment Liam walked onstage in that Union Jack parka, I just started cackling with glee. That was a great show.
Shame about the 2nd album...they never really topped sons of the stage in the end.

I must say I was quite surprised when I found the news while I was browsing the teletext. Yeah, teletext.
The second album is definitely weak (can't even remember some of the songs somebody mentioned) but also can't deny there's some gold to find in their short career.

Not a knock at any individuals but I swear when the second one leaked everybody was raving how it was miles better than the first. After all the promise of the amazing single & the thought that they might have took some huge chances it ended up completely underwhelming.
The first despite a few iffy tunes I can still put on start to finish & enjoy as much as anything Oasis did in recent years.
Can't wait for Noel's new record so I can compile the LOST OASIS ALBUM

I was about to make a top 10 thread to close the section in a high but I've ended up making a longer list:
Four Letter Word Millionaire The Roller For Anyone Standing On The Edge Of The Noise Wigwam Three Ring Circus Flick of the finger Second bite of the apple Iz Rite I'm Just Saying World Outside My Room The World's Not Set In Stone In The Bubble With a Bullet
There are also some salvageable other (Bring The Light, Beat Goes On) but meh

How many GCSE's you got, pal?
I reckon a B average may rank above the whole 'not being stabbed' thing.
