McCarroll is an absolute legend. The fact that eddie, Kim & frodis don't like him just makes me love him all the more.

link me please I wish all books were easily available to steal online as audiobooks, I never read, I just get detracted so fucking easily but audiobooks I can listen to at work and are a wonder to my ears. live4ever.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Live&action=display&thread=63067McCarroll is an absolute legend. The fact that eddie, Kim & frodis don't like him just makes me love him all the more. I never said I didn't like him. Just that the general impression I got from reading that L4E thread is that he complains a lot about Noel which he's entitled to do.

some interesting tidbits from that link you posted erin, especially from that poster bigun, who apparently had major links with all of the band

McCarroll is an absolute legend. The fact that eddie, Kim & frodis don't like him just makes me love him all the more. as i've said, it's just my impression. i never did get to see the band live while he was still in it. i don't begrudge him writing the book though and i will certainly read it.

Never been sure what to make of him. For example, he's seems a genuine and likeable chap at times and he's spot on here... How do you feel about what happened to the band after you left? I count myself lucky for being a part of it. For me, the special thing was that it was five normal lads from Manchester. It was the worst and best years of my life, I suppose. Fair play for the success. But it all changed. It just turned into a commercial success. I mean, I'm going up against a bloody global brand at the end of the day. ...only for him to then sound like an utter cunt...

When things have ended real bitter it's always hard to know how to take a book thats written years after. I've got the Jam book by Bruce & Rick who had a ton of bad things to say about Weller (as well as some real nice things as well) They were still completely gutted about Weller ending the Jam 20 years later.
Makes for an interesting read anyway though nobody should believe it as the gospel truth.

couldn't agree more... there's Tony's side, there's Noel's side and somewhere in the middle of both is probably what actually happened.

I find it brilliant that one of the truly best Oasis songs opens with the words "Right, Tony"

Be great if Liam brought out a book when he hits Keef Richards age, I'd imagine he'd tell it like it is. Also graphic details about patsy kensit's cunt would also be nice.

finished it a few days ago. well worth a read. disappointed with guigs. friends since the age of 11 and he stabbed him in the back tbh. telling him noel can sack him and he's fucked. lovely friend. saying he'd snap noel in two probably wasn't the best piece of judgement either mind. anyone interested in the formation of the band and those early tours should check it out.
