One relatively minor thing that's been overlooked is how big of a loss foden was the day before the final. I say this as someone who has probably watched 95% of his club matches for the last 2-3 years, but he could easily have been the decisive sub in extra time and made the one lock-picking pass/run to free kane or sterling(or himself). Or Southgate may just have left him to rot on the bench, we'll never know.
Over the moon for Mancini. Has always deserved better for getting us over the United hump from 2010-12. Even with boatloads of money, not every manager could get rid of cityitis and stand up to Fergie as he did.

The best thing about winning this European Cup is that it wasn't easy. We still get criticised for winning the 2006 World Cup with relatively lucky matchups (against Australia, Ukraine, Germany and France). As if beating Germany in its own stadium were easy! Nothing in this tournament was easy though - we beat Switzerland (which, excuse me, sent France home), Austria, Belgium, Spain and England. If Brazil played in the cup, we would have beaten them too. As usual with Italy, this victory comes at the most unexpected of times. We were losing traction as a national league against the Premier League and the Liga. Look at us now! Serie A dominated the tournament, it was great to see.

Italy were the team of the tournament. Incredible spirit and energy throughout.
If I was an England fan I’d be asking big questions about Southgate’s judgement calls.

Is it really Southgate's fault though? Any of the more experienced players from England could have stepped up and said "Saka? I don't think so. I am taking that penalty". None of them did.
Roll on Qatar 2022! Hopefully by that time Zaniolo will be back and we can really see the full extent of this team.
