He looks like he tries too hard when he has to be cool. Just should cast Omar Little or put Segal in blackface

Big news, The Postman's on board:
"Kevin Costner has signed on to Django Unchained.
The Dances with Wolves star will play a brutal individual known as Ace Woody in director Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming western, Deadline reports.
Costner's character is described as "sadistic", working as a trainer of male fighting slaves and female prostitutes on Leonardo DiCaprio's character's plantation."
BUSINESS JUST PICKED UP

still think he should have casted elba or omar little or the nutter who played mr eko or dave chapelle or pauly shore or or just not jamie foxx, but dicaprio/waltz/sam l jack will surely be stellar and for some reason I think casting costner as a "sadistic" is a really good move

As far as I'm concerned, what follows doesn't constitute as spoilers, but if you're really sensitive about this kind of shit, don't read it. I hate spoilers, and I'd recommend you go read this script for yourself, because its awesome, and I don't think it'll hurt the movie. It might even make it better. HO-LY SHIT. It's good. It's really really fuckin' good. Great dialogue, great characters. The pacing is great, 168 pages (translates to 168 minutes)perfect if not for a scene in the second act, but it was necessary, I suppose, and it might play out with more tension on screen. Regardless, the finale is so awesome nobody will care. Fist pumpingly awesome. There's one part near the end of the movie when shit is about to go down, a fucking epic moment of anticipation, and Tarantino simply writes 'cue cool music'. Can't wait to hear what that might be. Casting wise, so far, it seems bang on. I know people are up in arms about Foxx, but I think he'll do a good job. Django is pretty quiet. He's described as being skinny, so I wonder if they'll get him to trim down a bit. I think he's a better choice than Smith, actually. Leo is going to be great as Candy, and that's a hell of a character. Costner is perfect for his part. The script actually describes his character as looking like Wyatt Earp . Sam Jackson's character is Sam Jackson. Even if you didn't know he was playing that role, you'd know it the second you read his first line. But the real treat of the movie is Cristoph Waltz. God damn, I can't wait to see him in this. His character is amazing. Really awesome, and he's going to kill it. Its almost as if Tarantino made up for making him so damn evil in Basterds, by writing him the most amazing, role in this. He's pretty much the Obi Wan of the wild west. This movie will be very controversial. This movie will be very hard to watch. At times, this movie is hilarious. If the script is done justice, it could be Tarantino's best work to date. It doesn't try too hard, and there's not a hint of self awareness in it. I'm looking at you, Basterds. It's a spaghetti western, with a Tarantino vibe and I can't fucking wait to watch it!

20 pages in and digging it. Forcing myself to stop there too. Think the roles for Waltz and Foxx are really appropiated so far.

Can't believe you guys are reading the script months before the movie comes out. I read the Return of the Jedi novel about a couple of days before the theatrical release and it totally ruined it for me.

Also, Kevin Costner has pulled out of the film and been replaced with Kurt Russell which tbh I am chuffed about.
